From One Night Stands to Committed Relationships: 30 Year Revolution in the American Singles Scene
American Singles Education, Inc., the world's largest non-profit singles organization, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary on Saturday, April 26, 2008, 8pm-Midnight, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Rings Night Club, 101 McInnis Pkwy, San Rafael CA.

/Dating - Singles News Articles/ - SAN RAFAEL, CA, March 30, 2008 - "The American singles scene has been revolutionized over the past 30 years," says Rich Gosse, Chairman of American Singles. "Singles at our parties are no longer looking for one-night stands. There are two reasons for this. "First, the onset of A.I.D.S. A generation ago romantic eligibles could engage in casual sex without much fear of deadly diseases. Second, drunk driving laws are much more strictly enforced today. 30 years ago singles drank at our parties like there was no tomorrow. Now the average person has one or two drinks, because no one wants to be arrested for driving under the influence. Today's sober crowds are much less likely to lower their inhibitions to the point of going home with strangers.

"American Singles has adjusted to this profound change in behavior by altering the focus of the parties. In 1978 the main purpose of the parties was to help singles find a date. Now the goal is far more ambitious—to help everyone find someone special for a lasting relationship."

Rich Gosse is the author of eight books on this subject, including You CAN Hurry Love, Singles Guide to the Bay Area, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find ("This is a great book!" - Oprah Winfrey ). His expert advice has been featured by ABC, BBC, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Oprah, Donahue, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, Business Week, Entrepreneur, Playboy, Playgirl, The London Times, The Australian, The New Zealand Herald, etc. Mr. Gosse is available for interviews by calling 415/479-3800.

American Singles Education, Inc. incorporated in the State of California as Marin Singles in 1978. Eventually the group spread throughout the Bay Area, causing the name to change to Bay Area Singles. Then the group began sponsoring events in Southern California, changing the name to California Singles. After the group expanded nationwide, the name was changed one more time, to American Singles. Now it is the only organization that sponsors events for singles worldwide (on six continents).

The 30th Anniversary Celebration on April 26 features dancing to current hits and oldies, spun by DJ Darryl K of Mobile Sound and Light. The cost is $10 at the door. Dressy night club attire is recommended. Adults of all ages are welcome. Anyone wishing more information may visit www.ThePartyHotline.com or call 415/507-9962.
