Jewish Matchmaker Attributes Surge in Marriage Proposals to Date Coaching
Matchmaker Shoshanna Rikon has added a Date Coaching service to her matchmaking business to help clients navigate through the stages of a relationship. She correlates an increase in engagements with the enrollment in her coaching program.
NEW YORK, NY, June 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It's the start of summer, and with warm weather, comes wedding season. Who knows better about getting couples married than a matchmaker. Shoshanna Rikon, CEO of Shoshanna's Matchmaking Service, has been bringing together Jewish singles for over a decade. She can be credited for generating hundreds of marriages. Besides having a knack for choosing mates, she also provides date coaching services to both individuals in the nascent stages of dating and to couples who are angling towards a possible engagement.
As a matchmaker, she naturally provides advice and guidance through the dating process. She recognized a need for helping her clients progress through the stages of a relationship so she launched a coaching division of her business, Dating Coach Extraordinaire. As a result, she has seen a surge in proposals amongst her clients.
"More and more clients have been signing up for date coaching services. I provide dating therapy, guiding clients into relationships and ultimately marriages. I think most couples know when they're ready to settle down and take that next step, but sometimes, they need a little push in the right direction," says Shoshanna with a slightly mischievous grin.
Shoshanna asks the following questions of her clients who are considering taking the plunge into the engagement pool:
1. Do you share a similar vision of the future?
2. Are you on the same page financially?
3. Do you get along with your partner's family?
4. Do you have a mutually pleasurable sex life?
5. Can you see yourself having meaningful conversations with the other person for years to come...about the mundane as well as the serious aspects of life?
6. It's ok to have fights, but at the end of the day, do you laugh together?
These are all points Shoshanna discusses with her clients during date coaching when it seems as if a couple is on the cusp of taking the next step. She believes that, "If both people have similar answers to these questions, they feel quite confident that getting engaged is the way to go." Although many couples' answers match, there are some whose responses do not align. When that happens, Shoshanna is there to pick up the pieces and put them back into the dating mix again.
Shoshanna goes on to say, "These are basic, but fundamental blocks of a successful marriage. I'm attending 7 weddings this summer. What's more beautiful than watching a couple get married under a chuppah on the beach?"
