Singles Taxi Dance has bachelors paying for the privilege of dancing with single women
The East Bay's first-ever Singles Taxi Dance takes place on Friday, November 19, 2010, 8pm-Midnight, at the Hilton Hotel Oakland Airport, One Hegenberger Road, Oakland CA 94621.
SAN RAFAEL, CA, October 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The East Bay's first-ever Singles Taxi Dance takes place on Friday, November 19, 2010, 8pm-Midnight, at the Hilton Hotel Oakland Airport, One Hegenberger Road, Oakland CA 94621. "For the first time ever, single men in the East Bay will be required to pay women ten cents per dance at a singles party," says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals. "One woman at the party will be crowned Miss Bay Area Taxi Dancer and win prizes.
"The Taxi Dance originated on San Francisco's Barbary Coast in 1913," says Mr. Gosse. Eventually the concept of A Dime A Dance spread to major cities across America. Tonight we bring this uniquely American event back to where it started—the San Francisco Bay Area. This time there's a twist—only single men and women will be admitted. Taxi Dances in the past have always been open to married people.
"The Society of Single Professionals has sponsored hundreds of singles dances worldwide over the past 30 years, on six continents. Whether our dances are in San Francisco or Montreal or Sydney or Auckland, the single women complain that the men don't ask them to dance. Apparently men don't realize the VALUE of dancing. Tonight, we will drive this point home by making them PAY for each dance! Men on the Barbary Coast gladly paid ten cents for one dance in 1913. Adjusted for inflation, that was a lot of money for three minutes of a woman's time!"
Rich Gosse, Producer of The Singles Taxi Dance, is the author of eight books on dating, including You CAN Hurry Love, Singles Guide to America, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find ("This is a great book!" Oprah Winfrey). His entertaining advice for singles has been featured by The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, Business Week, Playboy, Playgirl, The London Times, The Australian, The New Zealand Herald, ABC, CBS, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Oprah, Donahue, etc. Rich Gosse is available to the news media for interviews by calling 415-479-3800. The Singles Taxi Dance is sponsored by The Society of Single Professionals, the world's largest non-profit singles organization. Single adults of all ages are invited. Coat & tie/dressy attire are requested. The cost is $20 at the door, not counting the ten cents men will pay for each dance they choose.
